Week 8 of the NMCL

By Simon Hallam

Winter is coming - and Trentham relinquish the race for the throne.

As we enter December and the weather turns decidedly cold, we waw this weekend our first match postponed because of a frozen pitch.

We are also sad to inform you that Trentham has withdrawn from Division 3 of the competition having struggled to field a team over the past weeks. All their future fixtures have been removed from the website, all previous games have been marked as "Abandoned" and all points awarded as a result of those games removed.

For the remaining teams in Division 3, this means that Dudley Kingswinford (whose match against Veseyans was postponed due to the icy blast) stay top on 20 points, with Ledbury 5 points behind in second place.

In Division 2 Old Hales were awarded a home walkover as Shrewsbury failed to honour their fixture and retain a comfortable ten-point lead over Stafford who had a strong bonus point win over Worcester.

Division 1 Hereford had a good win over Bees to put them in top spot, leapfrogging Cleobury Mortimer who had no match this weekend. Bees remain in third just a point ahead of Wolverhampton.

Where next?

Fixtures coming soon! Better late than never.
